N°5 was developed by Chanel in 1921. Coco Chanel did not want a perfume that evoked a single flower, she preferred something more “artificial”, a more an elaborated composition. For that reason, the perfumer Ernest Beaux used in this magical formula obtained by a chemical synthesis that sublimates in a unique way the most intoxicating essences of flowers.
